You will operate, install, calibrate, and maintain integrated computer/communications systems consoles, simulators, and other data acquisition, test, and measurement instruments and equipment to launch, track, position, and evaluate air and space vehicles. You may record and interpret test data.
You will perform a variety of engineering work in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. You may conduct basic and applied researh to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacturing. You may recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques.
You will analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer network problems. You will play an important role in the routine maintenance of your organization’s networks, such as performing file backups on the network. Maintenance can be performed daily, weekly, or monthly and is important to an organization’s disaster recovery efforts.
You will test and analyze geological samples, crude oil, or petroeum products to detect presence of petroleum, gas, or mineral deposits indicating potential for exploration and production, or to determine physical and chemical properties to ensure that products meet quality standards.
You will determine the location and plan the extraction of coal, metallic ores, nonmetallic minerals, and building materials, such as stone and gravel. Your work will involve conducting preliminary surveys of deposits or undeveloped mines and planning their development; examining deposits or mines to determine whether they can be worked at a profit; making geological and topographical surveys; evolving methods of mining best suited to character, type, and size of deposits; and supervising mining operations.
