You will prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic and diagnostic studies by using a variety of radioisotope equipment. You will prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists, and subject patients to radiation. You may also execute blood volume, redcell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques.
You will diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases related to the human eye. You will examine eyes and visual systems, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment. You may also prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
You will assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. You may assist in the developemtn of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment and modify treatments based out patient status in accordance with State laws.
You will perform surgery on the mouth, jaws, and related head and neck structure to execute difficult extractions of teeth, to remove tumors and other growths, to correct abnormal jaw relations by revision, to prepare the mouth for insertion of dental prosthesis, or to treat fractured jaws.
You will provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiologist. Your duties will include reviewing prescriptions and diagnoses; acting as a liaison with physicians and supportive care personnel; preparing equipment such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintaining records, reports, and files. You may assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization.
You will assist in operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. You may help set up operating rooms, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeon's assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
You will assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. You will also administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients. You may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
You will compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinical patients in a manner sonsistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. You will process, maintain, compile, and report patient information for health requirements and standards.
